Whitebox VP of Operations Jenna Frey Wins 2021 Women in Supply Chain Award

Jenna Frey wins 2021 women in supply chain award while working for Whitebox Logistics, Fulfillment, and Ecommerce Optimization Company

We’re thrilled to announce that Whitebox Vice President of Operations Jenna Frey is a 2021 recipient of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s Women in Supply Chain award!

About

Jenna joined Whitebox in early 2020 and led her new team through unprecedented safety restrictions and demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. She leveraged her experience and leadership to accelerate growth for Whitebox’s client partners who were working hard to keep up with the sudden surge in demand for ecommerce and CPG products. This rapid client growth expedited a planned expansion for Whitebox’s logistics arm, and Jenna led the team through the complex task of moving and expanding two of our three warehouses to accommodate growth.

Vision

Jenna continues to play an active part in Whitebox’s vision to disrupt and change the supply chain industry. Over the past year, she and her team have been significantly building out their capabilities as a tech-enabled 3PL with a proprietary warehouse management system (WMS) that focuses on providing omnichannel fulfillment services across a brand’s portfolio. Whitebox’s technology and in-house data create efficiencies at each step of the fulfillment process to help brands save costs.

A Woman In Business

Rising to leadership in a male-dominated industry, Jenna has had to strike the delicate balance of speaking her mind while managing sometimes-negative perceptions of assertive women. Often the only woman at the table in a room of men, she has learned to navigate between the need to speak and the need to listen. With no female mentors in her professional life, she had to draw partly on personal experience and partly on male mentors who took the time to help her grow. Jenna hopes to use her position of leadership to provide opportunities she never had for women working in supply chain. She plans to be a mentor and role model to women who are interested in finding their seat at the table.

Education

Jenna earned a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland College Park and an MBA in global operations from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington. She also holds a certificate of operations from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at UNC Chapel Hill. In 2013, she received the IU-UNC LogMBA E.B. Leedy Award from the Institute for Defense and Business for demonstrated leadership during her MBA studies.

Jenna’s expertise and leadership skills are invaluable to the Whitebox team and we are happy she has been recognized with this honor. Congratulations, Jenna!
